“At no time in a woman’s life is the incredible adaptive capacity of the human body more obvious than during pregnancy. The physiological changes that accompany pregnancy are nothing short of amazing.” – Dr. Joan Fallon

Getting chiropractic care is essential for pregnant women and new moms. Chiropractors work with the body’s natural ability to adapt and function the way that is was designed to, which is vital for the normal physiological function of both the mother and the baby during pregnancy and birth. Dr. John is specifically trained to work directly with the ligaments in the pelvis to help the pelvis bones naturally balance and aid the body in preparing for the upcoming birth. The technique of working with those ligaments and pelvis is called Webster’s technique.

Many expecting moms come in with that number one complaint of low back pain. During pregnancy, your body goes through many changes, including developmental and hormonal changes. Many of your ligaments may shift, and many women experience lower back pain as a result. Our job is to address these issues and help make your pregnancy experience enjoyable and pain-free. Dr. John has experience working with pregnant moms who have babies sitting in breech position and babies in transverse position prior to birth. Webster’s technique is designed to reduce torsion of the woman’s uterus (the cause of intrauterine constraint) and, therefore, allows the baby to get into the best possible position for birth.

If you are trying to get pregnant, chiropractic care is a wonderful solution. Chiropractic care can also reduce restrictions and interference which can then increase the chance of getting pregnant. Here at Paramount Health, several women have found that after years of infertility and struggling to get pregnant and maintain their pregnancy they are able to conceive and be able to deliver healthy beautiful babies.

Chiropractic care reduces the amount of nerve interference in the body, which allows the brain to adequately communicate to the entire body, not only is this vital in nonpregnant individuals but in pregnant women as well, as the body is tasked with the creation of a new life. Reducing that nerve interference to the woman’s body also allows communication from the brain to the developing baby. This increase in communication allows for better fetal development.
